TRICARE, a comprehensive healthcare program available to active and former servicemembers and their families, is offering its open enrollment period from November 13 to December 12, 2023. During this time, if you are eligible, you can make changes to your plan.

To learn more about TRICARE Open Season, available options, and eligibility, Sarah Bumgardner, AAFMAA Director of Partnerships and Member Engagement, spoke with Amy Marotto, AAFMAA Member Benefits Team Lead. Marotto is responsible for training AAFMAA’s Member Benefits team on military, government, and survivor benefits. Prior to joining AAFMAA, Marotto was an educator for 20 years. She received her MS in Education from Stephen F. Austin State University and a BS in Education from the University of North Texas. Marotto is married to an active-duty U.S. Army officer, and they have two grown children and two grandchildren.

In general, if you are enrolled in or eligible for a TRICARE Prime plan or TRICARE Select, the open enrollment period applies to you. If you are on Active Duty or have a TRICARE For Life (TFL) plan, you are not eligible. To learn more, visit the TRICARE website and watch their conversation below.
