AAFMAA wishes you a prosperous 2016! The new year presents you the opportunity to review your important documents, including your insurance policy’s Annual Statement. You will receive your 2015 Annual Statement within the next couple of weeks. Below is what you should look for:
Your admin information. We rely on this information in the event that we need to reach out to you regarding your policy. Please confirm that we have your correct name, address, phone number and email address. You can easily update any of these at our Member Center, accessible at https://connect.aafmaa.com.
Your policy information. AAFMAA takes great pride in being fully transparent with its Members regarding policy benefits and costs. The two sections in the middle of the statement summarize your policy and policy activity for 2015. For Term Policies, you’ll have the opportunity to review your amount and period of coverage. For Whole Life Policies, you’ll see your coverage amount and can check your policy’s cash value and crediting rate (6.5% in 2015, 6.0% in 2016)*. You’ll also see a summary of premiums, costs of insurance and policy loan activity. While other companies may roll up their costs into a summary line, we list them out fully so you can truly compare our policies to others. In addition, we provide detailed explanations of these costs on the reverse side of the statement. We are proud that our products are among the best in the industry in terms of value and coverage.
Your beneficiary information. The whole reason you obtained a policy from AAFMAA was to protect the ones you love. Please ensure that the beneficiaries we have on record are up-to-date. We pay out your policy to the beneficiary you list on your forms so it is important to keep this accurate.
