Supporting all members of the military community involves connecting with organizations that match our values and are compatible with AAFMAA’s mission. MilSpouses are an important component of our community, which is why we’ve partnered with the Military Spouse Employment Partnership (MSEP), a Department of Defense (DoD)-led initiative that connects MilSpouses with hundreds of employers who have committed to recruit, hire, promote, and retain military spouses. MSEP helps to increase career opportunities, along with competitive salaries, available to military spouses.
“With the unemployment rate for military spouses roughly at 21%, we want to do what we can to decrease that number,” said AAFMAA president Michael Meese. “We are thrilled to join MSEP and are committed to increasing employment opportunities for military spouses who have long struggled to maintain steady employment due to the challenges associated with military life.”
AAFMAA is proud to be a leader in the effort to promote military spouse employment. Through this partnership, we join more than 850 MSEP partners that have contributed to hiring more than 340,000 military spouses.

Established in 2011 by the DoD, the Military Spouse Employment Partnership creates employment connections to provide partner companies and organizations with direct access to military spouses seeking career opportunities and spouses with direct access to employers who are actively recruiting. MSEP helps MilSpouses to find meaningful employment by providing career exploration opportunities; education and training; employment readiness assistance; and employment connections.
